THE ROLE
As a Human Resources Business Partner at Valtech you’ll be at the forefront of aligning people strategies with business goals, offering thought partnership and practical HR guidance to drive impact. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership, provide data-driven insights, and contribute to regional projects that shape the employee experience. Whether you’re supporting change management, championing talent development, or helping leaders navigate organizational complexity, you’ll play a key role in fostering a culture where people and performance thrive.
This role requires fluency in French to support our bilingual teams and stakeholders effectively.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Strategic HR Support
- Collaborate with Service Line leaders to align HR initiatives with strategic business goals.
- Provide coaching and guidance on policies, procedures, and HR best practices.
- Analyze your Service Line HR data and metrics (Peakon, Lattice, Dayforce) to identify trends and areas for improvement, and propose action plans to address them.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings (Service Line or Regional) to provide HR insights and perspectives.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and P&C colleagues.
- Act as a bridge between your Service Line and others to drive alignment and collaboration.
HR Strategy Development & Implementation
- Partner with P&C leadership to design and implement HR strategies.
- Lead the rollout of programs and ensure alignment with regional goals.
- Monitor effectiveness and adjust initiatives based on feedback and outcomes.
Employee Relations
- Escalate employee concerns thoughtfully and fairly in collaboration with your lead.
- Ensure consistency and compliance in resolving employee issues.
Talent Management
- Support performance management, goal setting, and career development.
- Identify growth opportunities, mentorship pathways, and learning programs.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and transitions.
Change Management
- Guide leaders through change initiatives such as org design, M&A, and process shifts.
- Contribute to communication strategies that support employee engagement and buy-in.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Stay informed on local HR laws and ensure Service Line compliance.
- Facilitate training sessions to raise awareness of policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate HR records and support employee changes such as contract updates within internal systems.
HR Analytics & Reporting
- Use HR tools to track engagement, turnover, and key workforce metrics.
- Create reports and dashboards for leadership, identifying areas of opportunity.
- Partner with your P&C Lead to turn insights into action.
Project & Thought Leadership
- Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives at the regional level.
- Stay ahead of HR trends and bring fresh, relevant thinking to the table.
Minimum Qualifications
- This role requires fluency in French to support our bilingual teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HR roles, preferably in a business partner or generalist capacity.
- Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, offering strategic guidance and thought partnership on people-related matters.
- Tech-savvy, with a strong grasp of HR systems and a knack for using digital tools to drive impact.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance in Quebec (US is a plus!)
- Data-driven mindset with a passion for improving employee experiences.
- Exceptional communication skills — clear, empathetic, and action-oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across a matrixed and Multinational organization.
- Experience in developing or supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives is a plus.
- The ideal candidate is based in the Montreal area and is able to work on-site at our Montreal office as needed.
